Obituary of Antonio Zizumbo
Antonio "Tony" Zizumbo, 70, of Saginaw, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, Tio, and friend was born into eternal life on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center. Tony was born in Saginaw on March 6, 1949, the son of the late Agapito and Refugia (Sanchez) Zizumbo. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from May 15, 1967 - May 14, 1973; serving in Vietnam from November 2, 1967 - October 29, 1973. Tony was employed with General Motors - Central Foundry, retiring in 1996 after 25 years of service. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and playing pool with his brothers and friends. He will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered for his generous ways for years to come. Tony leaves to carry on his legacy, his children, Antonio Zizumbo, Jr., Briana (Jason) Burridge, and Rudy Juarez; spouse, the former Tabatha Christian; grandchildren, Michael Burridge, Gavin Zizumbo, Gilbert Fitchett, Jr., Gabriel Christian, Malin Burridge, along with five brothers, four sisters, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, John Zizumbo. Tony's family will be present to receive visitors on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil for Tony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services (formerly Reitz-Herzberg), 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot. On Monday, August 12, 2019, Tony will be taken to St. Joseph Parish, 936 N. 6th Ave., Saginaw, where visiting will continue from 9:00 AM until Tony's 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Francis Voris, OFM Cap. will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Legion, Post 22.
