Obituary of Peggy Ann Scott

Peggy Ann Scott, 82, of Lansing, our strong-willed, selfless, and most devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on the morning of Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at The Willows at Okemos. Peggy was born in Findlay, Ohio on April 29, 1937, the daughter of the late Rodney and Eva (Brown) Hunt. She graduated from Sexton High School, and while out rollerskating, happened to meet Edward Scott. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on September 18, 1955. Peggy worked at Oldsmobile for nine years, and also for some time at a party store. Above all, her favorite and longest tenured career was being a devoted homemaker and raising her four boys. Peggy enjoyed auto racing, especially sprint car races, arts and crafts, and time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Never one to judge, Peggy accepted all as they were, and had an unmatched ability to connect with both the young and old from all walks of life. She will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered for years to come. Peggy leaves to carry on her legacy, her faithful husband of 63 years, Ed, and their three sons, Doug, Mike, and Patrick Scott. She was the unconditional loving grandmother of ten, and will be deeply missed by many great and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are five half-siblings, along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Peggy was welcomed home to heaven by her son, Jeffrey Scott, and brother, Bradley Chadwick. Peggy's family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 10:00 AM until Peggy's 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Therese Catholic Church, 102 W. Randolph St., Lansing, MI 48906. Fr. John Fain will officiate with a luncheon immediately after mass. The Rite of Committal will follow lunch in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Delhi Twp. In honor of Peggy's great-grandson, Karson Sella, memorial contributions may be directed to Dravet Syndrome Foundation, P.O. Box 3026, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 or St. Therese Catholic Church. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1550 Midland Rd., Saginaw Twp., MI 48638.
