Obituary of Marjorie Lois Laube
Marjoie Lois Laube, 98, of Saginaw Twp., our honorable, resilient, and courageous mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Union Court, surrounded by her devoted family. Marjorie was born in Saginaw on April 17, 1921, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Feldotte) Benkert. Marjorie married Arthur Laube on April 13, 1946, and he preceded her on December 28, 1991, just short of their 45th anniversary. Marjorie was also preceded by her siblings, Doris Johnson and Gwen Behrens. In Marge's younger years, she enjoyed boating with Art; traveling through the Great Lakes and Canada. They belonged to the Saginaw Bay Yacht Club and Power Squadron. Marge was active with the Order of the Eastern Star most of her life, and was an exceptional bridge player. She retired from the Saginaw County Prosecutor's Office in 1987. Family always came first with Marge; she was the patriarch who instilled integrity and hardwork in her children and grandchildren. Marge was a very strong lady, who will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered for years to come. Surviving are her two children, Gregory (Agnes) Laube and Carol (Michelle Gath) Laube; grandchildren, Samantha (Mike) Maldonado and Gregory Laube II; great-grandchildren, Mike, Mason, Gregor, and Eleigh; special friend, Linda Kaeckmeister, and many nieces and nephews. The entire family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Union Court for their compassionate care. You are an exceptional group who treated our mother with dignity and respect. Your kindness will always be remembered. A private ceremony will take place. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services (formerly Reitz-Herzberg), 1550 Midland Rd., between State & Gratiot. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Saginaw County Animal Care Center. Marjorie was an animal lover, who would always take in any animal and care for it. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
