Obituary of Kenneth Michael Doyle

Kenneth Michael Doyle, 68, of Saginaw, our kind and loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Monday, April 15, 2019. Ken was born in Saginaw on December 22, 1950, the son of the late Leo and Esther (Hospal) Doyle. While at the former Hidden Hollow Bar, Ken happened to meet the former Laura Lee Fischer. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 8, 1975. A true servant of the Lord, Ken was a faithful Christian and member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, where he was active with the Church Council, Men’s Softball Team, and Handbell Choir. Ken loved to tinker and rig things to work; he was a true “MacGyver,” who was always there to fix and be of assistance to his family, friends, and church family. If he had the will, Ken always had a way to make do with what was available. Above all, family (especially his grandchildren) always came first with Ken. He was a member of Boy Scout Pack #3295 and Boy Scout Troop 205 of Bridgeport. Ken was a man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He also enjoyed nature, hunting, gardening, camping, and in addition to working with his hands and mind, spending time outdoors. Ken was employed with R.W.C., Key Design, Baytech Industries, and was also an Independent Contractor. He will be deeply missed, yet lovingly remembered for generations to come. Ken leaves to carry on his legacy, his devoted wife of 43 years, Laura Lee Doyle and children: Christopher and Amanda (Robison) Doyle and Melissa (Erin) Clink; grandchildren, Megan Clink, Anthony Clink, Joseph Doyle, and Joshua Doyle; siblings, Mary Ann Ernest, Donald (Betty) Doyle, Debbie (Roy) Hatfield, Kathy (Ron) Schulz; sister-in-law, Sandra Richardson; brother-in-law, Alan (Kim) Fischer, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless friends. In addition to his parents, Ken was welcomed home to heaven by his brother-in-law, Denny Ernest. Ken’s family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM & 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services (formerly Reitz-Herzberg), 1550 Midland Rd., between State and Gratiot. On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, Ken will be taken to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 5250 Mackinaw Rd., where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Ken’s 11:00 AM Funeral Ceremony. Rev. Homer Mosley, Jr. will officiate with cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
