Obituary of Frederick Charles Brown
Frederick Charles Brown, 81, of Drummond Island, our generous, dedicated, stubborn, and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away on April 13, 2019, just weeks short of his 82nd birthday. Fred was born on May 9, 1937 in Wyandotte, the son of the late Samuel and Margaret Brown. After high school, Fred proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 until 1959. He went on to work at Ford Motor Company, Detroit Diesel, and General Motors Tech Center in Warren, MI, where he retired from on April 1, 1998. Fred married the love of his life, the former Joyce Anne (Schoof) Rybak on September 29, 2007, at Drummond Island Lutheran Church. Fred was an avid Michigan fan and enjoyed running and building model trains. He belonged to the Moose Lodge and loved his time on Drummond Island; watching the bears, feeding the deer, and taking in the scenery. Fred will be missed dearly. Fred leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 11 ½ years, Joyce Anne; children, Jim (Tru) Brown, Mark (Bonnie) Brown, Dave (Lauralee) Brown, Terry Brown, Laura (Dale Dickey) Rybak, Robert (Laura) Rybak, Kelly Rybak, Stacey (Matthew) Smorch, Heather (Jeff) Butcher, and Ron (Penny) Rybak; daughter-in-law Therese Brown; 26 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
