Obituary of John William Hanthorn

John William Hanthorn, 67, of Bay City, our loving, compassionate, and caring husband, father, uncle, and friend went home to be with the Lord on March 28, 2019 at Toni & Trish House. John was born on November 23, 1951 in Bay City, the son of the late Clarence and Emma (Meyer) Hanthorn. Following high school, John met the former Louise Pilon at Oasis. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on April 10, 1976, sharing almost 43 years, two children, and countless memories. Those who knew John know of his love of fishing, going to the casino, reading and watch sports – especially Michigan State. He worked as an entrepreneur and was a wonderful salesman, he also drove taxi in Midland and Bay Counties. John’s favorite time of the year was the 4th of July, he had huge displays every year, passing the tradition down to his son. John will be missed dearly but lovingly remembered for generations to come. John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Louise; children, Shayna Hanthorn and Sean Hanthorn; sister-in-law, Joyce Hanthorn; brothers-in-law, Louis (Polly) Van Grey, Don (Amy) Pilon, Dennis (Lenora) Pilon, and Ken Harrison, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, John was welcomed home to heaven by his brothers, Richard Hanthorn and Frank Hanthorn; sisters, Rita Von Grey and Jeanne Harrison; nephew, Brian Hanthorn, along with his father and mother in-law, Donald and Louise (Bosco) Pilon.
