Obituary of Douglas Wayne Fournier
Douglas Wayne Fournier, 88, of Essexville, our caring, generous, honest, and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on March 21, 2019. Doug was born on August 4, 1930, in Sebewaing, the son of the late Forest and Norma (Winchester) Fournier. After graduating from high school, Doug went on to serve in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home, he married the love of his life, the former Marilyn Keller on February 9, 1952. Doug graduated from Barbers College and went on to own Anderson’s Barber Shop on Johnson St., retiring in 1993. Doug was a wonderful husband for over 67 years, a great father, and he absolutely loved being a grandpa. Those who knew him know his love of fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, and most of all, helping others when he could. Doug leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Marilyn; son, Kirk (Connie) Fournier; grandchildren, Eric (Mary) Fournier and Megan (Douglas) Black; great-grandchildren, Easton Black and Kason Black; sister, Connie Henderson; brother-in-law, Myrl (Joanne) Keller, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
