Obituary of Larry Allen Crete
Larry Allen Crete, 80, of Essexville, our kind, handy, friendly, and generous husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on Monday, February 18, 2019 in California. Larry was born on May 6, 1938 in Bay City, the son of the late Oscar and Evelyn (Maucotel) Crete. Larry graduated from Akron High School and went on to serve as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. While at a dance hall, Larry met the former Marie Streng, and they were united in marriage in April of 1965. After 30 years of service, Larry retired from General Motors - Powertrain. He was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and was known for his love of fishing, trap and skeet, and wood working. Larry was a talented handyman and could fix just about anything. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Gateway Sportsman Club, and the AMVETS. His devoted and hard-working ways will forever be remembered, and live on in the hearts of his family and friends for generations to come. Larry leaves to carry on his legacy, the love of his life and wife of nearly 54 years, Marie and their children: Lori Beyett of Huntington Beach, CA, Dan (Amy) Crete of North Reading, MA, and Gary (Kristi) Crete of Comstock Park; grandchildren, Sydney and Blake Beyett and Alyson Crete, along with several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Larry was predeceased by his brother, Richard Crete and sister, Geraldine Hellebuyck. Larry's family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 10:00 AM until Larry's 11:00 AM Memorial Liturgy at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to be held in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Thaddeus Parish.
