Obituary of Ralph Reginald Strohpaul
Ralph Strohpaul, 72, of Bay City, our hard-working and strong-willed husband, father, grandpa, son, and brother was born into eternal life on the evening of Thursday, November 29, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Ralph was born in Beaver Twp. on May 25, 1946, the son of Ralph and Luella (Kuch) Strohpaul. While at the county fair, he met the former Diana DeBats. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 26, 1966, recently celebrating 52 years of marriage. Ralph voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and retired from General Motors – Grey Iron Foundry as a Journeyman after many years of service. Ralph enjoyed woodworking and hunting at his property in Oil City. In addition to his devoted wife of 52 years, Diana, Ralph is survived by his two children: Jeffrey (Laura) Strohpaul and Jenni (Steve) Newton; grandchildren, Taylor and Zachary Strohpaul and Ashlynn Strohpaul; mother, Luella Strohpaul; siblings, Paul (Linda) Strohpaul, Roger Strohpaul, Kathleen (Edwin) Haske; brother-in-law, Daniel Clifford; mother-in-law, Elizabeth DeBats, and brothers-in-law, Rick (Mickey) DeBats and John (Valerie) DeBats. Ralph was welcomed home to heaven by his father, Ralph; sister, Karen Clifford, and father-in-law, Oliver DeBats. Ralph’s family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 9:30 AM until Ralph’s 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
