Obituary of Justin Edward Beutel

Justin Edward Beutel, 38, of Sanford, formerly of Bay City, our dedicated, formidable, and most devoted husband, son, brother, wonderful uncle, and awesome friend passed unexpectedly while doing what he loved on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Antrim County, Michigan. Justin was born in Saginaw on May 28, 1980, the son of Jack Beutel and the former Theresa Steiner. He was a 1998 graduate of Garber High School in Essexville and went on to attend the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI) in Arizona, becoming a Master Motorcycle Mechanic. Justin was the owner and operator of Beutel’s Cycle and Performance in Midland and also worked at Great Lakes Harley Davidson and C & S Sports. On a blind date set up by two conspiring mothers, Justin met the former Whitney Scully. They were united in marriage on August 23, 2014. Justin was a Freemason and also a member of the American Legion in Duluth, Georgia. Throughout life, Justin was known for his high level of integrity and infectious laugh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing of all sorts, camping, dogs, and of course, motorcycles. His larger-than-life personality and legacy of love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for generations to come. Justin leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Whitney Beutel; mother, Theresa Schurman; siblings, Ryan Beutel (Tina Skimson), Jenica Nordstrom and her husband, Dylan, who was Justin’s life-long friend, Ian Schurman, and Graham Schurman (Krista Eitel). Justin was the most wonderful and loving uncle of Gavin, Adalyn, Jaxon, and Emerson, and will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered by his in-laws, Daren & Dena Scully, Collette Newman, Wayne Newman, and Ryan Scully. Justin was welcomed home to heaven by his unborn child, Jude Beutel; father, Jack Walter Beutel; step-father, John Schurman, and grandparents, Harold & Gloria Steiner, Walter & Marge Beutel, and Walter & Jean Schurman. Justin’s family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Tribute Cocktail Hour at 6:00 PM (where in honor of Justin, Busch Light will be the only offering) at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Visiting will continue at Skorupski’s on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 10:00 AM until Justin’s 11:00 AM Life Celebration, with a Tribute Cocktail Hour following once again. Weather permitting, the family requests all motorcycles to attend and for everyone to dress casual in their Harley attire. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family, c/o Theresa Schurman, for a scholarship fund to be established in Justin’s honor at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
