Obituary of Dolores E. Zarasua

Dolores E. Zarasua, 89, of Bay City, our strong-willed, independent, loving, and most wonderful mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on the morning of Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Jill, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dolores was born in Bay City on November 25, 1928, the daughter of the late Stephen and Edna (Dubay) Jayo. Throughout life, Dolores was known for her love of gardening, music, sewing, and doll collecting. She also had a creative knack for crafts of all sorts. Above all, Dolores was devoted to her family and will forever be remembered as the matriarch of the family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Jay (Jean) Good, Jill (Robert) Gomez, Kim (Timothy) Borysiak, Lyn (Jeffrey) Weekley, Blair Huiskens, and her honorary daughter-in-law, Beverly Richards. Dolores was the most devoted, loving, and fun grandma of Tiffany, Stephanie, Robert Jr., Stacey, Tamie, Theodore III, Amy, Brandon, Justin, Christopher, Ashley, Lauren, Jordan, Jalen, Jared, and Jaden, and will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered by her many great grandchildren; siblings, Stephen Jayo, Roger Jayo, Edna "Eddie" (Jack) Miner, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dolores was welcomed home to heaven by her son, Theodore Forgette, Jr.; loving companion and best friend, Joe Zarasua; siblings, Gloria Ballard and Leonard (Mary) Jayo; sisters-in-law, Betty and Phyllis "Jeanie" Jayo, along with her beloved cat, Teesha and dog, Shin-Yen. Dolores' family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 4:00 PM until Dolores' 7:00 PM Funeral Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to be held privately in St. Patrick Cemetery.
