Obituary of Linda Jean Garcia-Conaway
Linda Jean Garcia-Conaway, 69, of Bay City, our selfless, caring, sweet, and most dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on September 11, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Linda was born in Bay City on August 12, 1949, the daughter of the late Shirley Holiday and Alonzo Garcia. She graduated from Bay City Central in 1967 and went on to attend and graduate from S.V.S.U. with her Bachelor Degree, with a major in elementary education and a minor in developmental learning. On August 19, 1989, Linda was united in marriage to Frederick Conaway, who survives. Those who knew Linda, knew she was a passionate, forward-thinking, and devoted educator. Always putting the needs of others before her own, Linda was instrumental in the creation of the summer migrant program. She retired from Bay City Public Schools after 30 years of service as a school teacher. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, baking, and crafting. She was a wonderful cook, and her chicken mole will never be forgotten. Above all, family always came first with Linda. She will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered for generations to come. In addition to Fred, Linda leaves to carry on her legacy her daughter, Amanda “Taco” Garcia; brothers, Clark (Kathy) Garcia, Larry (Kathy) Garcia, Guy (Cindi) Garcia; nieces and nephews, Amy (Tim) Covieo, Kathleen (Manuel) Zavala, Nick Garcia, Tara Pacholka, Ashely (Ted) Garcia, Mike (Justine) Garcia, Jeff (Dana) Garcia, Sarah Mullins, Wesley (Roxanne) Pacholka, and Guy Michael Garcia; great nieces and nephews, Jess, Louis, Austin, Bronson, Jordon, Gage, Alex, Gabe, Jersey, lyric, Connor, Jamai, Savannah, Camden, Maddy, Lucas, Dillan, Braydon, Jeffrey, and Alexander; Aunt Mary Watson, along with her sisters-in-law, Hannah and Barb.
