Obituary of Arlene Joan Yacks
Arlene Joan Yacks, 80, of Bay City, our extremely generous, kind, compassionate, and humorous mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend was born into eternal life on the morning of Friday, May 25, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Arlene was born in Bay City on February 26, 1938, the daughter of the late John Heintskill, Sr. and Julia (Sliwinski). While working at City Dairy, Arlene met Charles Yacks. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 6, 1959. Sadly, in 2002 Charles preceded Arlene in death. Arlene was a 1956 graduate of St. James High School and will forever be remembered for her love of deer hunting. She enjoyed cooking for her family, and was also a fan of casino bus trips and outdoor television shows. Most of all, Arlene loved time spent with the two loves of her life, her beautiful granddaughters. Her legacy of love and laugh that could light up the entire room will never be forgotten. Arlene leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Robert and wife, Tina Yacks. She was the unconditional loving "Nana" of Katelyn and Nicole. Also surviving are her eight siblings, Linda (Roger) Gillise, Carol (Dan) Baxter, James (Julie) Heintskill, Robert Heintskill, John Heintskill, Jr. (Joy), William (Janie) Heintskill, Thomas (Celeste) Heintskill, Richard (Janice) Heintskill; in-laws, Ruby Dorian, John Yacks, Gerald (Shirley) Yacks, Ronald (Paulette) LaForest, and Russell (Beverly) LaForest. In addition to her parents and her husband, Arlene was welcomed home to heaven by her sisters-in-law, Connie Heintskill, Sandy Norling, and Charlene Yacks. In Arlene's own words, "Remember me with smiles and laughter, because if you can only remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all." Arlene's family will be present to receive visitors on Monday, May 28, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, Arlene will be taken to All Saints Parish (St. James Church), 710 Columbus Ave., Bay City, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Arlene's 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
