Obituary of Martin Edmund "Marty" Bromberg

Martin Edmund "Marty" Bromberg, 58, of Bay City, our devoted, caring, and most giving husband, father, recent grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life unexpectedly on Friday, February 16, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Marty was born in Bay City on December 24, 1959, the son of Peter and Patricia (Surman) Bromberg and was a 1978 graduate of Bay City Central. After being set up on a blind date by mutual friends, Marty dated, fell in love, and was united in marriage to the former Terri Zielinski. Their marriage was blessed with 34 years, two children, and countless memories. Throughout life, Marty was known for his strong work ethic. He was employed at Larson's Salvage for 39 years and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. When not enjoying the outdoors, Marty could be found tinkering in his garage with just about everything. Marty was always there for both family and friends, and will forever be remembered for his heart that was larger than life. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Terri and their two children, Michael B. (Krista) Bromberg and Katie Lynn Bromberg (fiance, Tyler Martin). Marty was the loving grandfather of Brooklyn Kay Bromberg and will forever be missed by his mother, Patricia Bromberg and brother, Michael P. Bromberg. Also surviving are his father and mother-in-law, Thomas & Diane Zielinski and his in-laws, Thomas Zielinski, Jr., Colleen (Bruce) Laskey, Shelley (T.D.) Duncan, along with his nephews and nieces, Ryan, Lauren, and Emma Zielinski; Justin, Joshua, and Jeremy Laskey; Alicia, Ashlyn, and Abigail Ball, and Tommy Duncan. Marty was welcomed home to heaven by his father,  Peter and sister, Karen Bromberg. In accordance with Marty's wishes, there will be no public ceremony. The Rite of Committal will be held privately in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
