Obituary of Douglas Richard Trerice
Douglas Richard Trerice, 68, of Hampton Twp., passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Doug was born in Bay City on March 27, 1949, the son of the late Richard and Charlene (Geno) Trerice. Doug was a Master Plumber and the owner and operator of Doug's Plumbing, where he helped countless customers and made many friends along the way since opening in 1986. Doug retired from Local #85 and was a member of Local #1098. Those who knew Doug will forever remember his love for University of Michigan Football and hunting (especially buffalo hunting). His hard-working and fun-loving personality will live on for years to come. Doug leaves to cherish his memory, his three daughters, Cara (Paul) McGinnis, Chris Espinoza, and Kendra (Tim) Scott and his wife, the former Helen Castillo. His memory will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren, Julia "Morgan" Gawlak, Jack and Meri McGinnis, Gabby and Isaac Espinoza, Abigail Emmons, and Gavin Scott. Also surviving are his step-children and their families, Erica (Sam) Malone and their children, Gabby and Evie DeLeon and May Malone; Renee (Nate) Steckert and their son, Elijah Steckert, and Angela (Jake) Bourdlaise and their daughter, Marian Bourdlaise, along with his sister, Ruth Ann Gard; brother, Roger Trerice; sister-in-law, Cristie Trerice, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Doug was welcomed home to heaven by his brother, Richard and infant sister, Diane. Doug's family will be present to receive visitors on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service officiated by Pastor David Ferranti at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. On Monday, February 19, 2018, Doug will be taken to St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 206 Scheurmann St., Essexville, where visiting will continue from 10:00 AM until Doug's 11:00 AM Funeral Ceremony. Rev. Eric A. Stone will officiate with interment to follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Doug may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
