Obituary of Fred Stevenson
Fred Stevenson, 84, of Oscoda, our intelligent, yet casual and simple father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Huron Woods Nursing Home in Kawkawlin. Fred was born in Kawkawlin on June 13, 1933, the son of the late Melvin and Eleanor (Buchanan) Stevenson. He graduated from Pinconning High School with the Class of 1957 and proudly served in the U.S. Army active duty, and later transferred to the Army Reserves. Fred retired from Dow Chemical Company, where he was a senior lab technician. He’ll forever be remembered for his words of wisdom, “Just take ‘er easy!” Fred leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Stephanie Stevenson, Marc Stevenson, Bethany Stevenson, Pamela Stevenson, Amy (Vladimir) Zokvic, and Jason (Jane Jankowski) Stevenson; his grandchildren, Renee (Paul) Jacquet, Rachael Hardin, Ryan (Megan) Stevenson, Alexandria (Nathan) Peruski, Nicole (Benjamin) LaFleur, Jacob Zokvic, Caitlin Zokvic, Heather Stevenson, Katrina Stevenson; great-grandchildren, Emma and Jenner Hardin, Elijah Jacquet, Brynlee Stevenson, Lily Glenn, and Maverick and Adeline Peruski; siblings, Christena (the late Robert) Karow, Martha Lee (Ronald) Vandriessche, and Vance Stevenson; special family member, Nadine Bruzewski, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Fred was welcomed home to heaven by his brothers, Joe, Terrell, and Leonard Hoyle. Fred’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of Fred’s 11:00 AM Life Celebration at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. A tribute reception and cocktail hour will follow in The Wesley Room at Skorupski’s. Private interment will be held in Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
