Obituary of Susan Ann White

Susan Ann White, 62, of Bay City, our compassionate and loving wife, mother, and grandma was born into eternal life on the evening of Sunday, September 24, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region. Sue was born in Barnwell, South Carolina on July 1, 1955, the daughter of the late James and Betty (Atkins) Bowers. After high school, Sue attended beauty school and worked for many years a talented beautician. After moving to Michigan, she lived next door to a gas station where Michael White happened to work. They began visiting, later dated, eventually fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 23, 1973. Throughout life, Sue was known for her love of sewing, but most of all, her grandchildren. Sue’s family was the light of her life. She was also the former owner of Timberline Landscaping and a parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish. Her memory will live on for generations to come. Sue leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 44 years, Mike and their two daughters: Michele (Brad) Larner and Patricia (Jeffrey) Gwizdala, and her honorary son, David (Becca) Gwizdala. She was the unconditional loving grandma of Zackery, Cianna, Elizabeth, Allison, Andrew, Adam, Aiden, Jordyn, and Zoey. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her sisters-in-law, Virginia (Ken) Dubay, Doris Kelley, and Patricia Brashaw; nieces and nephews, Angie, Tammy, Randy, Brandon, Sharon, Susan, Terry, Rick, Dale, and Laurie. In addition to her parents, Sue was welcomed home to heaven by her twin brother, Phillip Bowers; step-father, Peter (Margaretha) Chernavage, and her father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Evelyn White. Sue’s family will be present to receive visitors on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the time of Sue’s 11:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Stanislaus Kostka Church), 1503 Kosciuszko Ave., Bay City. Cremation will follow. The entire family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to McLaren Hospice, especially Mary Ann, for their compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be directed to McLaren Hospice. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at www.skorupskis.com.
