Obituary of Robert Stanley Wisniewski
Robert Stanley Wisniewski, 90, of Bay City, our generous, hard-working, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother was born into eternal life on the morning of Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at his home, with his family by his side. Bob was born in Bay City on November 2, l926, the son of the late Constantine F. “Gus” and Salomea Wisniewski. While at a wedding, he met the former Josephine “Jo” Walraven. After not seeing each other for a year, they reconnected, dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on February 2, 1952 in St. John’s Church. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he worked as a painter and repairman; he was stationed in Germany and Japan. He was a well-respected mechanic and later retired from General Motors – Grey Iron Foundry. Bob will forever be remembered for his love of bowling, gardening, and his family. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of sixty-five years, Jo and their children: Robert (Mary Lou) Wisniewski, David (Betty) Wisniewski, Marlene (Jim) Greshow; grandchildren, Joe (Kristi) Wisniewski, Meghan (Brandon) Shelson, Reed Wisniewski, Jeff (Heather) Meyer, Rick (Michele) Meyer; great-grandchildren, Gauge, Hunter, Callie, Zacharia; sister, Patricia Warner; in-laws, Evelyn Migut and Paul (Darlene) Walraven, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was welcomed home to heaven by his siblings, Gerald, Eugene, Ambrose, Bernadine, Dorothy, along with many in-laws. Bob’s family will be present to receive visitors on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil for Bob at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. On Saturday, September 9, 2017, Bob will be taken to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Hyacinth Church), 1515 Cass Ave., Bay City, where visiting will continue from 9:00 AM until the time of Bob’s 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy. Fr. Rick Filary will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
