Obituary of Janet Ann Amyotte
Janet Ann Amyotte, 66, of Bay City, our funny, loving, and caring mother, Grammy, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Brian’s House. Janet was born in Bay City on December 16, 1950, the daughter of the late James and Jean (Bellor) Liss. Janet graduated with the first graduating class from All Saints in 1969. In her younger years she worked in secretarial positions at TV5 and Delta College. While on a first date with Ray Amyotte at Richie’s Drive In, Janet happened to think he was a very nice man. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on December 18, 1971. Their marriage was blessed with two boys, Keith and Kyle. As the boys grew up, Janet was known for always being involved in their school and extra-curricular activities. The family routinely enjoyed camping trips to the Old Jellystone Park in Traverse City. Be it watching movies, playing board games, or listening to her favorite musician, Neil Diamond, Janet always loved being with those she loved. Janet loved to laugh. Her quick wit was known to light up the entire room. Later in life, she led a successful career as a medical transcriptionist. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons: Keith and wife, Rene Amyotte, and Kyle and wife, Taylor Amyotte. Janet’s memory will live on in the hearts of her grandchildren, Lauren Amyotte, Josie Amyotte, Tyler Jacobs, and Matthew Jacobs. She is also survived by her siblings, Judy and Dave Call, Charles and Joanne Schallier, Jim Liss, and Joseph and Mary Liss, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Janet was welcomed home to heaven by the love of her life, Ray, who preceded her in death on July 29, 2016; her brother, Jeffrey Liss, and in-laws, Pearl Essex and George Amyotte. Janet’s family will be present to receive visitors on Tuesday July 18, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 2:00 PM until the time of Janet’s 7:00 PM Celebration of Life at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Cremation will follow with private interment to be held in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family, c/o Keith Amyotte.
