Obituary of Kathryn Kot Brunett
Kathryn Kot Brunett, 62, of Essexville, our personable and strong-willed mother, grandma, daughter, sister, and friend gained her angel wings peacefully at home after battling many health problems on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Kathy was born in Bay City, where she was a lifelong area resident, on August 22, 1954, the daughter of Frank and Irene (Wispinter) Kot. She was a 1972 graduate of Garber High School and then began working in the finance department for Bay County, where she retired after 34 years. Throughout life, Kathy was known for her personable and kind ways. Family always came first with Kathy; be it sticking up for her baby brother in her younger years to spending quality time with her grandsons – her lover, Landyn and her bruiser, Caleb. Many will remember Kathy for her deep involvement with politics and her excellent Christmas cookies. With a heart larger than life, Kathy’s love and legacy will live on for generations to come. Kathy leaves to cherish her memory her son, Zachary (Carrie) Brunett of Essexville and her two grandsons, who were the light and love of her life: Landyn and Caleb. She will forever be missed by her mother, Irene and brother, Kevin Kot; friend and father of Zach, Bernard Brunett, along with the entire Brunett family. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Frank, in 1981, along with her beloved dogs, Annie and Phil. Kathy’s family will be present to receive visitors on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 2:30 PM until the time of Kathy’s 7:00 PM Tribute Ceremony at Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. Private interment will be held in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
