Obituary of Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Bowker
Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Bowker, 81, of Bay City, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and, aunt friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Betty was born in Bay City on June 12, 1935, the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Nelson) Moultane. When Betty’s first date was scared to pick her up due to her father’s size, he sent his friend who happened to be a little taller. That friend was Larry Bowker, Sr. Larry and Betty dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 26, 1955. Sadly, Larry preceded Betty in death on December 6, 2009 after 54 years of marriage. Throughout life, Betty was known for her love of crocheting, casino, and her favorite – going to Bingo. She attended St. James School and was a graduate of Bay City Central. An excellent cook, Betty will forever be remembered as an excellent homemaker who loved tending to her two fireplaces. Betty also sold AVON and worked at Kinney Dairies. Family always came first with Betty. She was a caring mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered for generations to come. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Larry Jr. (Christie) Bowker, Barb (Steve) Charters, and Rick Bowker (Tina Fisk). She was the loving grandmother of Christin, Matthew, Steven, Stephanie, Ashley, Garrett, Kristy, Ashley, and the great-grandmother of Layken and Asher. Betty’s memory will remain alive in the hearts of her siblings, Arthur (Kathy) Moultane, Bill Moultane, Marie Rabideau, Judy Bowker; beloved dog and friend, Sara, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was welcomed home to heaven by her son, James Bowker; grandchildren, Kyle and Sara Charters, and siblings, Arlene Bean, Francis Moultane, Sue “Sis” Hale, Louise Henderson, and Kathleen Moultane.
