Obituary of Sandra Kay Pula
Sandra Kay “Sandy” Pula, 68, of Omer, our kind, caring, hard-working, devoted, and fun loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on the evening of Saturday, February 25, 2017. Sandy was born on August 23, 1948 in Standish, to Mitchell and Elaine (Walker) Pula. Sandy graduated from Standish-Sterling Central High School in 1966. After high school, she went on to work as a Pharmacist Assistant at Chipman’s Drug Store in Standish. She later became a nanny for Morgan, Reese, Madison, and Clara King, Ben and Maggie Keeley, and Corbin and Myles Richardson. Sandy enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and friends, and taking care of her beloved cats and her “babies.” Sandy loved following sports of all types and will always be remembered for being a true Michigan State fan. In addition to her parents, Sandy leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life, William Kelly; siblings, Susan (James) Rex, Donald (Cindy) Pula, and Jessica (Patti) Pula; sister-in-law, Tina Pula; nieces and nephews, Joshua Rex, Jennifer Garone, Amanda Buck, Michael Pula, Jr., Jaime Blanchard, Jason Pula, Abigail Pula, Austin Dingee, and Alex Dingee, along with many great nieces and nephews and special friends, Ann Brown, Joe Keeley, and Mike and Yvonne King. Sandy was welcomed home to heaven by her brother, Michael Pula, Sr. A Memorial Liturgy will be held at the Resurrection of the Lord Parish, 423 W. Cedar St., Standish on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive visitors one hour prior. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Skorupski Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 955 N. Pine Rd., Hampton Twp. The entire family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Colleen Chaltraw with Hospice Compassus and to the staff at St. Mary’s of Michigan – Standish Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, where memorial contributions may be directed to.
