Russell "Russ" J. Bernard

Russell "Russ" J. Bernard, 79, of Essexville, our humorous, loyal, and laid-back husband, step-dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on the evening of Friday, December 22, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region. Russ was born in Bay City on October 1, 1938, the son of the late Howard and Irene (Picardy) Bernard. It's at General Motors where Russ met the former Dolores Bruneel. Their marriage was blessed with 44 wonderful years. Russ and Dolores enjoyed winters spent in Sun City, Arizona. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Dolores and children: Cheryl (Mitchell) Dewald of Caro and Ron Wiergowski of West Bloomfield; grandchildren, Nicole (Al) Miller of Sandusky, Shelby Dewald of Caro, and Maggy Wiergowski of Brighton; siblings, Bob (Arlene) Bernard of Midland, Tom (Edna) Bernard of Lebanon, MO, and Janie (Larry) Curler of Sanford; in-laws, Rosemary Prime of Iowa, Diane (Fred) Maxey of Holly, Linda (Doug) Mears of Tennessee, and Carol Bruneel of Reese, along with many nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
