Timothy Joseph Herek, 82, of Bay City, our social and devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born into eternal life on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region. Tim was born in Bay City on May 2, 1935, the son of the late Raymond and Louise (Lewandowski) Herek. Tim honorably served in the U.S. Coast Guard and through friends, he met the former Barbara Stephanie Pajakowski while she was working as a cashier. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on October 18, 1958. Sadly, Barb preceded Tim in death on August 26, 2016. Throughout life, Tim was known for his hobbies of metal detecting and road tripping. He retired from the City of Bay City after many years of dedicated service. Tim leaves to cherish his memory, his four sons: Tim (Mariann) Herek, Christopher (Ann) Herek, Mark Herek, and Brian (Tracey) Herek. He was the unconditional loving grandpa and Papa of Rennie, Jessica, Julie, Lauren, and Branden Herek; John Robert, David, and Shana Ellsworth and E'Monie Herek, and the brother of James (Rosella) Herek, Raymond (Druane) Herek, Patrick (Maryann) Herek, Joseph (Mary Beth) Herek, and Thomas (Christine) Herek. Tim is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, Tim was welcomed home to heaven by many in-laws. Tim’s family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the time of Tim’s 10:00 AM Memorial Liturgy at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish (St. John the Evangelist Church), 614 Pine St., Essexville. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the wishes of the family.
